Holding Thermometer

ThermoSmart
a non-contact temperature sensing solution

Problem Statement

The mercury thermometers have many restrictions such as difficulty in talking temperature for babies, prone to breakage, difficulty reading at times, poses an increased risk of infection as it comes in contact with multiple people

Brief

To design a non-contact temperature sensing device that has domestic as well as industrial applications. It can be used for measuring body temperature, food, machine and environment temperature. It will be linked to an application on our phone. The mobile application displays the measured temperature after pairing it with the device.

Aside from measuring the body temperature, it can be used for measuring temperature and the hot spots of a mechanical or electrical component or equipment. It can measure the heater or oven temperature in the kitchen, the hot spots in firefighting, and environmental temperature.

It could also be used in the kitchen to track the heating of cooking oil as its temperature rises. This is done to keep control of the smoke point of oil so as to maintain the molecular structure and flavour of the fat, otherwise, it would not be healthy.

The application on the phone would display the temperature after being paired with the device. We can get the temperature of the body, food - oil and barbeque, machine, and environment using a button on our phone. It will also store all the data in the respective folders for reference.

It will display a gauge along with the temperature so as to tell how high or low it is and what should be the ideal temperature. The cumulative data will be represented in a tabular as well as a graphical format. The app will also send notifications which urge and remind the user to check the temperature.
